After an eight year stretch in the oilfield, Matthew decided to hang up the hard hat and pursue a diploma in personal fitness training. While in the patch he moved up the ladder at a dangerous goods facility by learning to do every job on site, which is an attitude he has held onto since changing careers. As a personal trainer, Matthew developed an interest in working with people in pain to increase their ability to move well and live well; It’s this interest that led him down the road of Massage Therapy.
Matt is a massage muscle wizard! He magically identifies stubborn knots and increases mobility dramatically. Thank you so very much Matt, and to the entire Integral Clinic team for showing me new exercises and being so warm. You’re the best!
Growing up Matthew was active in many sports including football, baseball and BMX. However, a rock climbing accident brought everything to an abrupt halt — with multiple broken bones and no rehab plan, Matthew spent the next 10 years in agony. After finally looking for relief it was massage that provided the most noticeable changes. He literally learned first hand that quality therapy works better than walking it off! Matthew’s believe is that the best recovery is going to come from a combination of massage therapy and using exercise to teach the body how to hold itself properly.
On top of being borderline obsessed with learning to provide the best treatment he is also likely the most positive person you will meet. Being able to find the positive in any situation helps Matthew connect with his clients to help them see past their current situation.
